Checking in on Musella lasiocarpa

I posted a while ago about how much this plant had grown in such a short time. Little did I know even that would be dwarfed by what it would manage by the end of the season.

  2. Nice! Some plants really amaze me by their growth rate...I'll never cease to wonder at how Joe Pye Weed goes from nothing to 8' in the space of, like, 3 months!

  3. It really does appear to be doing really well. I am bit jealous; this plant is definitely high up on my wish list but there is no way I will be able to accommodate it within the foreseeable future. I also really like that red-flowered rose, by the way.

  4. Thanks.

Aaerelon - you should try and track it down, it should be hardy for you in BC (it's supposed to be good to zone 6). And I also hope I see flowers next year.

Scott - very true. This plant cheats with huge leaves, Joe Pye Weed takes it to a whole other level of growth.

College Gardener - Thanks. The rose is a bit of a rambler, I've really liked the way it's playing well with the banana.
